Well, concerning news wise, I haven't heard of Hotch leaving, although the producers are certainly making it seem like Morgan wants to keep his position as Acting Unit Chief even if that concerns late nights & sleepless nights. Rossi said a few words to Hotch about this, and when Morgan sat in the chair... it certainly seemed like he wanted to stay like that. Just my opinion. Strange Promo/Preview for the next episode ;D But Gavin is in it ~*~*~ So I can't wait. Do you find this valuable? |

Good episode. I think Morgan is doing a good job. I like what Rossi said to Hotch about what's gonna happen when he has to step down...Especially now that JJ and Garcia made him an office. He felt and looked very comfortable in there. And the new girl on the show played by Sally (sp)Richardson-Whitfield is making her move. I wonder where this is going. Can't wait to see next week.

As an uber Hotchfan...this was a troubling episode for me. It was weird/awkward! Same for the team....taking orders from Morgan? Oh I feel in a sense, he is up to the task but he is more of a doer than a papertrail guy.... if Hotch had to give up his office, that would be the icing on the cake for me. After 5 seasons of playing Unit Chief, it is too hard to see and think of Hotch stepping down and someone taking his place. I am hoping when they tie up the Reaper case, Hotch is reinstated as Unit Chief. I know lives won't be the same but still....This episode was weird! Cutting out eyes and putting them in stuffed animals? But it's definitely not as gross as last seasons' finale. That just gave me major shivers and creeped me out. The whole theory of what they were doing, how, why and then what they did with the bodies afterwards was too creepy for me! Do you find this valuable? |

This was a good episode. I liked how the team handled the change. It was awkward, of course, but I think it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The thing I thought was most interesting was that they brought back Tamara from a couple episodes back as a love interest for Morgan. I wasn't sure if they would, since this show is notorious for introducing love interests and then never mentioning them ever again. (Will and Kevin are exceptions, but we all know Will only came back because AJ Cook was preggers. :)) It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

I agree with the awkwardness. The dynamics didn't feel right. Although Morgan is well qualified for the position of unit chief, I can only picture him leading a different kind of group (DEA, ITF, Anti-terrorism , etc.). I can see him as a Jack Bauer type of guy (but that's just me). I sure hope they put Hotch back as BAU chief soon. The upcoming 100 episode will bring the Reaper back and I can't wait to see how it will end. I'm hoping Hotch will be taking the lead on this one.

I am NOT loving Morgan having a love interest! I maintain he and Garcia are best for eachother. I felt bad when Garcia left the room and then Morgan calls the other woman. Either hook him up with Garcia or leave him as a player!

I did a serial killer essay and I had to include Jeffrey Dahmer and Robert Pickton (Season Four Finale was based off) so I really had to go into depth with them both. When I saw what the taxidermist did with the eyes of the humans, it was completely... just creepy! I don`t know, usually I'm fine with this things. I dissected a cows eyeball in physics, so when they made it seem like he was consuming the eyeball, I know it wasn't true since the eye is stiffer than that, but as he put pressure on the eye with his forgets, I was slightly worried. Well it was a freaky episode... The whole enucliator thing kinda creeped me out...It was a little strange not seeing Hotch as Unit Chief, but i think that Morgan has done well. I like how he sat in his new office... Love his "fun drawer" that Garcia made for him... I actually had a toy-dog like that, only mine had pink head. :) It's definitely going to be a very interesting season... As far as Derek's possible love interest goes,I'm still not sure about it... It doesn't have to be a bad thing, but I'm almost sure that it will affect his relationship with Garcia. Do you find this valuable? |

I think the series is setting up the spin-off...I could see Shemar heading up a second team or at least starting out doing that and then coming back later...and hopefully he'll take that new section chief with him...I really don't like her.

I was surprised, how well Morgan did his newjob, but Hotch was still, in a way, in charge. His remarks about Strauss, an ordinary agent couldn`t have said that. And Morgan dressed different, though I`m not quite sure, if it`s the job or the girl. I still think, Morgan will be bad in the job. He can give orders and doing the job, but he has a temper and I don`t know, I have a bad feeling about it! It could escalate into a major crisis in the team, when Hotch will be back and Morgan has to step down. Garcia and JJ would be on Morgans side, Rossi, Reid and Prentiss would be for Hotch. The best scene was the one, where Hotch caught the Unsub and Morgan told him, he should have waited and Hotch was totally the way, Morgan would have been ;) Until the last scene I had the feeling that Hotch did enjoy his "vacation"! Well...don't like Morgan in the roll but that's because after so long, I'm used to Hotch making the decisions. And, in his usual Hotch style, he kept his mouth shut, even when Morgan looked at him on the plane and he was the one who took down the unsub! LOVED that part! Now, I like Morgan, love his tackles but I just can't see Morgan liking all the paperwork and answering the phone after 5 minutes to Strauss! I mean seriously doesn't that woman have another job to do, one that doesn't require her checking in every 5 minutes? This is the same woman who couldn't handle a crime scene and Hotch discreetly got her out of there because she "stepped on the victim's hair?" *sigh* I hope this is temporary; I hope Strauss is gone and I think everyone is handling the situation as best as they can. I absolutely LOVED when Hotch talked back to Morgan because Prentiss um, tattled. ;) And then when Prentiss looked at Hotch and he smiled and said "What?" and walked away. That was a great scene in the whole episode. Now, personally, I like my eyes...so, this unsub isn't my type! ;) Do you find this valuable? |

OK:Morgan did a good job. But I agree with Rossi. When it is all over, are they going to have Derrick step down. And how well would he do it? When you get accustomed to leadership, it is hard to step down and take direction from someone else in your old position. On that note, Hotch did an excellent job in taking orders and being in a team player role instead of a team leader role. And let me tell you that is the sign of a great leader. As for Morgan. They did say that the spin off was going to have an all new cast, but I can see it with Morgan at the head and we get to see him deal with managing a team. Don't forget there are a lot of things he needs to learn that Hotch and Rossi already know. .......When to work through the night and then when to go home and rest. When to demand more from a member of team and when to back off. How to deal with the emotional toll of their work on the other members of the team. Morgan is going to need experience in doing that. As for his love interest. Well all the best to him. But here's the thing, she was a family member of a victim of an unspeakable crime. He hunts unspeakable criminals. To do that, he thinks like them and understands them. The toll of the job is high. Can she live with that? As for him and Garcia? Cannot happen he is now her boss. And when he isn't. Hotch would never allow it. Garcia would not be able to do her job properly when Morgan was in danger and she is his significant other. My humble thoughts. Do you find this valuable? |

Rossi said that Derek is a natural leader and he's right. The transition from Hotch to Morgan went very well. Hotch offered advice and Morgan listened and did what he thought was best. I really enjoyed seeing Morgan in the position. He did a great job and it was his profile of the killer as a taxidermist which led the team on the right path. Awesome! One of my fave moments was the scene with the family member when Morgan told her that they had recovered her loved one's eyes. Morgan's compassion for the victims is one of the best things about the character. My other fave scene was Garcia presenting his new office to him. The team seems stunned by the change from Hotch to Morgan, but it's obvious to them that Morgan didn't stab Hotch in the back for the promotion and considering everyone else on the team, Morgan is the best person for the job.IMO, the transition will be great for the team for however long it lasts. Hotch can actually learn a few things under Morgan's leadership and Morgan can learn a few things in the leadership position. I think this change is good for both of them and for the show in general. So far, I'm really digging this and I can't wait to see how this continues to play into the team's dynamic. On a sidenote re: Morgan's love interest...I *LOVE* his and Garcia's flirtation. Their moments are the best and I selfishly don't want that to change. However, Morgan is a good man who should be loved by a good woman. I'm not sure if Tamara is that woman, but it would be nice to see him with a life outside of the BAU. At least, every once and awhile. All in all, I definitely give this episode two thumbs up! Gotta say, the transfer of power was a LOT less awkward than I was expecting. I love Hotch, and he's a good leader, but I expected him to have more trouble adjusting to not being the one in charge, and I definitely expected to see more clashing between his style of leadership and Morgan's. On that note, Morgan's first round as unit chief was a lot smoother than expected as well. It was great to see him handling things professionally (but still in his own way), and having the rest of the team back him up every step of the way. And I absolutely loved the role reversal at the end (Morgan being the straightlaced "why didn't you wait for backup?" and Hotch giving the typical "would you have?". Emily's face just about summed up my reaction there). Also loved the Garcia/Morgan bit at the end - the fun drawer! She is so sweet to him. Not too keen on the romance with Tamara, though. I'm worried they're framing this for a serious blow to his career: he gets promoted and consequently thrust under scrutiny, and at the same time begins in a less-than-professional relationship with the sister of a victim. I'm wondering if he's going to get some heat for this or not.... Also, I was kinda going "erm" at Rossi in this ep. Is it just me, or did that comment about "what happens next" seem unecessarily disruptive? I mean, things are going smoothly enough and Morgan's doing well and Hotch is handling his demotion well, and then Rossi comes in planting doubts about whether Morgan will be reluctant to give up his new power? I know it's a reasonable concern, but honestly - the promotion *just happened* - give them a second to let things settle before getting everyone riled up again. Maybe it's just me... I have to say that i like how Morgan did his job! (But Hotch still is better in that position). Loved how JJ asked Garcia to do the office for Morgan. So sweet. And the fun zone with her photo! I felt that in the moment when unsub told that JJ had beautiful eyes she had to said something back! Alos loved the moment whan after Hotch attacked the unsob by himself and later Morgan said he should have waited for backup, Hotch replied "Would you?" That kind of made me laugh :) Do you find this valuable? |
