As far as being a Fed, the short hair is best, but I like hair that moves. Longer hair is sexier!

I would be annoyed."Cathain, I am not sure how much he can share about the cases he works on with Haley. When he and Morgan were on their way to the mall and Morgan found out that Haley and Jack were there taking pictures, he told Hotch he had to call them and he said he couldn't but Morgan convinced him to. So maybe there is not a lot he can tell because of trials and such and maybe he just wants to protect them from all that he sees. I like the short hair. I wish Reid would get his hair cut shorted also. It is just to long for an agent. But it does make him look a year or two older. Do you find this valuable? |

But, how much do any of them share about their personal lives? When they were profiling Morgan, JJ mentioned that she doesn't really know that much about him. And, I'm sure no one knew about Reid's mom until The Fisher King II. In his scenes with Haley, he's been open and he smiles (Fisher King I, The Big Game, Extreme Aggressor). He's not the type to crack a smile every second, but he's smiled more than the show says. Elle's seen him smile and laugh before, so I don't know what she meant by he never ever smiles.

he can't smile and laugh with all the pressure of his job, they see the worst of human nature everyday! i wouldn't be surprised if they forget to evn smile. and whn he does smile ..its beautiful..LOL.....rare treat as for his hair...loved them in season 2...medium, don't like the shorter one(season 3) tht much. Do you find this valuable? |

I gotta tell ya, as long s it's not longer than mine, he's good! That's my only rule. ;) I thought he was hot in Dharma and Greg, but playing the dark, mysterious character of Hotch has just made him that much better. All hotness aside, Thomas Gibson is doing an amazing job in this role. I could not imagine anyone else playing Hotch! He has made this character his!

I did a tally of how many episodes Hotch smiled in in season 1 (yes, I'm obsessive). Eight episodes. Also including laughs. Not a lot, because he is serious, but think sometimes that seriousness is more exaggerated than it really is.

I love the serious side of him. That IS Hotch. He definitely has a very HOT scowl/frown. The occasional laugh or smile is a great offset to the serious side.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be serious. I was just pointing out that even though he is a very serious guy, this image of him as this guy who won't smile (let alone laugh), *can't* smile, and runs away screaming "Get away, monster!" every time someone else smiles is false. I'd chalk up his more serious demeanor now to losing Haley and being separated from Jack. The guy's never going to be a Morgan or a Garcia (now, there are two people who haven't forgotten how to smile), but I hope when he's finished mourning his marriage, there will be occasional laugh or smile. At least as much as when he smiled at physics magic, or laughed at Chaplin. Serious fine, miserable, no.

I don't want him miserable either. I would vote for him and Haley to get back together somehow. I liked seeing him happy in some of those scenes.I like the serious looks on the cases, NOT the pained looks when he has been dealing with the separation, divorce papers etc. Although, TG is awesome in those scenes - exactly how he should be. Do you find this valuable? |

I rewatched "Limelight" last night....I totally loved listening to him blast Morris and then "Dave". "You saying she lied? When were you gonna tell us DAVE." LOL

#1hotchfan - That is exactly what I am talking about. I really like the friction caused by Rossi. He can really irritate Hotch sometimes and then the reaction is really fun.The divorce stuff is sometimes just plain painful to watch - especially for your favorite character. Do you find this valuable? |

SandraDD, I am curious, do you get the English version with the original actors' voices on German TV or do they dub it into German with different actors voices? I don't think it would be the same without Thomas Gibson's voice.
