I have seen allusions to his drug behaviour, some subtle qestionings ( althouogh they walk round each other on egg shells all the time anyway, which is another tread ..), but I can't find the episode where Reid admits to or is confronted about it.. You'd think that people devoted to the study of behavior, the observaitons of demenor, choice, hell, even the way one holds one's self, they should have caught it on almost the same day. Did anyone catch the names of the drugs his mixing? It's not like it's would be easy to hide it would create profoud changes almost instantanously. I am NOT a profiler, but what I do includes observing behaviours, choices, body language etc. displayed by the victim(s) the law enforsement and suspect(s). I am also educated in the phamacology of CNS chemicals and the effects they would have. Changes as profound as those which would be induced by the drugs Reid was supposedly not just taking, but injecting,( a far more effective way ( let alone faster ) to get those chemicals into one's brain). It is ludicrus that these people, his collegues, his friends don't pick up on them immedately. I seems Reid's all about his intellect, contol of that brain and usage of it.
I could see excusing the behavior on the trip home, after that, saying that he's just dealing with the experince is the weakest excuse for igoring using flags I have ever seen (except in real life). With this trauma, why wasn't he ordered into a Dr. of Psy. they would in any branch of law enforsement and Military. They do know something of his back ground, his issues with his mother, his own worry about inheriting her illness. among others.
I am disappointed in a show which seems to try to stick to what would be, strays so far from what would be. To a person such as Reid, the effects on his CNS funtion would send off bells and whisles for miles around.
