The Crossing

Synopsis:
Morgan, Prentiss, Reid and J.J. attempt to stop a stalker before he gets close to the woman who is the object of his affection. Meanwhile, Hotch and Rossi consult on a murder case to determine if a wife who killed her husband can claim battered-woman syndrome.

Best Moments Between Characters:
  • Hotch and Rossi's discussion about failed marriages.
  • When Prentiss worked with Keri to get Mike to put away his gun.
  • When Prentiss approached JJ in the end to ask what was up. JJ blew it off and made "the phone call" in the end.

Best Lines:
  • JJ, Prentiss, Reid, and Morgan were sitting around the briefing table.
Morgan: "Where's Mom and Dad?" (referencing Hotch and Rossi)

  • JJ talking on her phone to Will
JJ: "Hey it's me, got a minute? Yeah, I'm fine, we just really need to talk. I'm pregnant."

The turning point in the investigation:
When Keri saw the man, Mike Hicks, in the street. She realized she'd seen him around a lot at places she frequented. When Garcia ran a background check on some of the men, they discovered Hicks had worked IT and had, at some point, worked on Keri's computer.

Whodunit?
Mike Hicks. He was an IT tech guy worked on Keri's computer at the law firm. Her hand accidentally brushed up against him as she made room for him to sit and fix the computer, and he had been obsessed with her ever since.

All right, I thought I should wait for someone else to start the thread (watch someone starts a new thread while I'm typing:p) but I can't.

Anyway, I thought it was decent. Not spectacular, but it also could improve upon rewatch - Children of the Dark did that for me.

Don't really care for the two case format. The show just doesn't have the hang of multiple case plots (multiple plots with the team members, yes, actual cases, no). They seem choppy. Still some interesting things in both. The stalker case wasn't the heart pounding you get with serial killers. But, I have to say, the stalker is the first unsub since creepy little boy killer in The Boogeyman that freaked me out. When he was in the bushes and grinning? Scared the heck out of me. And, I thought JJ's issues with the case were very believable and they're getting more into the difficulties of her job. Birthright was having to see all the cases. This one touched on the fact that they have to turn some down. And, this was the best way to introduce the pregnancy. Her issues with the case were very much about the case and how she felt she failed the other woman (blame the bureaucrats, JJ), and the pregnancy was just an added thing to make the others realize something was off, rather than it being "she's upset because she's hormonal"

I'll get into the Hotch and Rossi plot later. No way I can fit it all in the character limit and I don't want to cut off half way.

So, Reid's a savant? He can tell you what day a date falls on without having to check.
