Synopsis:
Rossi reopens an unsolved case from his past, and the team helps him to find answers regarding the murder of two parents who were killed almost 20 years earlier.


Best Moments Between Characters:
  • When Kevin Lynch walks out of Garcia's bathroom naked to find Rossi standing there.
  • At the bar when Prentiss, Morgan and JJ get Rossi to open up about the case.

  • When Hotch started undressing to fight the inmate Chester.
  • When Rossi arrives at the Galens' house and Connie tells him to leave them alone.

  • When Hotch explains himself to Reid after they leave the prison.

Best Lines:
  • Kevin Lynch: (to Rossi) "I think we need to have a talk. You know, man to man?"
  • JJ: (after Haley called her because she couldn't reach Hotch) "That is one seriously pissed off lady."
  • Hotch: (to the inmate Chester, whom he and Reid were interviewing) "Unfortunately for you I'm not some 5 foot tall, 100 lb. girl."
  • Garcia: "Kevin, if you get within a 100 feet of Agent Rossi, I will unleash an unrecoverable virus on your personal computer system that will reduce your electronic world into something between a Commodor 64 and a block of government cheese."
  • JJ (in front of Reid, Prentiss and Morgan): "Garcia and Kevin, sitting in a tree..."
After Reid gives 13 minute dissertation on why Chester is a serial killer, as Hotch and Reid are leaving, Chester asks Reid: "Is that true, I never had a chance?"
Reid: "I don't know, maybe."

The turning point in the investigation:
When the team realizes the "gifts" the unsub had been leaving were cheap - almost like something a child would give out.


Whodunit?
The mentally challenged son of a traveling carnival owner. The unsub worked as a sort of clown, and became drawn to one of the children, followed her home and accidentally killed the parents.

    The whole thing bugs me. Hotch and Reid have to check their firearms, and then they are looked in the room with an unshackled serial killer. Then all the guards are outside on the yard when the agents try to leave. It's pretty amazing to me that the guards didn't tell them they were going to be locked in until evening yard is over. It seems to me a ridiculous situation to create drama. Or am I crazy?

    I've always oliked the characters of Prentiss and Morgan, considering what Morgan had gone though, being victimized by his police department would lead me to believe he's be gentler with the unsub in this episode. They treated this disabled man with absolutely no respect. Even once they knew he was not fully mentally capable and basically had the mind of a child.
    I cried. I felt like this poor man was scared out of his wits. He was crying for his father like I child might.
    I wanted to slap Morgan and Prentiss.
    The Man was NOT a hardened killer. He was NOT a sadist. He was mentally a scared little boy who didn't know what he was doing.

    In this episode, Kevin Lynch (Nicholas Brendan) will make another appearance. I for one can't wait, this guy is an amazing actor and has amazing range (if anyone's seen him on Buffy, then you'll know what I'm talking about...."funny guy sidekick" to "computer nerd" woah.)
