I was a bit disapointed by the writers because of some inacuracies in this episode. As a social worker, I have worked with people with anxiety disorders among other issues. Reid had a line stating the term "phobia" isn't even listed as a disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
Well, this statement is totally inacurate, as the diagnosis of Specific Phobia is in the most current edition (DSM-IV, pp. 410-417). It is not thought of as an "antiquated term." I usually think the writers do an excellent job, but they really need to get their facts straight if they're going to make such a statement.

I thought the episode was good and the way the characters seemed to bond together with Gideon (Mandy Patinkin). I liked the way the writer had Hotch open up about his wife leaving him with Morgan. Also, I can see more to come in future episode in regard to Reid's past. But just so every one known Mandy Patinkin left Chicago Hope after the second season. Mandy will be miss, but I feel the remaining actors will do well. I would like to see hard episode, more meat than potatoes.

I really liked this episode. I think the group handled the departure of Gideon with grace and moved on to their next case and proved they could survive without him. I liked that the team seemed to bond a bit more with Gideon leaving in regards to Prentiss and Reid talking about why Gideon left the letter for him and they delved a little bit into Reid's past. Also, when Hotch finally admitted to Morgan that his wife left him and wasn't coming back. I think the episode was well done, it flowed better than the first episode this season and they have proven they can move forward and still have a successful show! Kudos to the writers and cast for doing an awesome job!
