Doubt


Synopsis:
A campus is plagued by a serial killer in Flagstaff, Arizona. The BAU team comes to their aid to find the killer before the unsub strikes again. Gideon doubts himself and his abilities and questions what he does. He is haunted by visions of Sara while solving the case.


Best Moments Between Characters:
  • Strauss calls Prentiss to "check in" on the progress of the case and see if she can get any dirt on Hotch. Emily tells her she has to get back to work, hangs up and throws her phone.

Best Lines:
  • Erin Strauss: "Give me your badge."
    Hotch: "Ma'am?"
    Erin Strauss: "You're suspended for two weeks without pay pending an investigation of your conduct. And, Agent Hotchner - if it were solely up to me, you would never get these credentials back."
    Hotch: (nods passively) "Always a pleasure."
  • Morgan: "How long can you hold that lawyer off?"
    Hotch: "You kidding? I was a prosecutor, I can hold him off for days"

The turning point in the investigation:
When they realized there was a copycat killer by getting a note that they had the wrong guy. They knew someone needed/wanted something from the real unsub.


Whodunit?
Nathan Tubbs, a campus security officer murdered 3 college girls. Anna Begley, a copycat killer, murdered a fourth girl before stabbing Tubbs and herself.

Gideon has been teetering on the edge of a breakdown since halfway through season two. He wasn't the stablest person even when we first met him -- he'd just come off a six month leave for PTSD, remember? I would be very sad but just as equally unshocked if the writers had him kill himself.
