Hi. I love Criminal Minds. It's one of the best shows on tv, well written and acted. I get annoyed that so many critics seem to hate it. This show is more than a procedural, and that is due to the main cast of characters.

I love all the characters except Rossi, who I hate, and trying to convince me that I'm wrong makes me hate him more, but my favorites are Reid and Hotch. I love Reid for his genius and geekiness. I love Hotch for how he looks out for his team and dry humor (so dry you can -and people often do -miss it). I love that all the characters have depth and care about each other.

Besides being obsessed with the show, I spend too much time online, read, write or whine about writers block, and watch tv.

I'm not good at the shallow. I can go on and on about a character's character but not so much on how they look. I find who these people are utterly fascinating. I've started a page about Hotch that's about who he is beyond his looks. (I haven't done as in depth - yes, I'm a nerd- analysis of Morgan, JJ, Prentiss, or Garcia, but I'd participate in discussions about them. I love them all)


A few things that I think need to be said. First, Hotch is the team leader. That's been true since the first season. It's a fact that many people miss, and one that needs to be rectified. He didn't get promoted when Gideon left. Or lose the chance to get promoted. The job was his to start.

Second, the ranting that some people give when the subject of Rossi comes up (and the utterly futile cries to "Bring Gideon back!") means that any criticism of Rossi gets lumped into -you just don't like him because he's not Gideon, or he's new. Those of you who like Rossi or are holding back opinions until he's been there longer don't have to agree with any criticisms of the character. Or even find them valid. Just realize that people can have other reasons to dislike him, besides the ones that get shouted the loudest.

I also think people should be able to edit their posts in the discussion threads. And, they should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Quotes Trivia:

One thing I love are the quotes of the show. I noticed some interesting things.

1. First time someone other than Gideon got the quote was Hotch in LDSK*
2. First time someone other than Gideon got both the opening and closing quote was Hotch in Machismo.
3. First time two characters got the different quotes in the same episode other than Gideon was Reid and Garcia in "True Night" (aka who needs the regular cast when you've got Frankie?)
4. Elle only got to say the quote one time, in Unfinished Business
5. JJ and Morgan both had their first quotes in season 2* (So did Prentiss for the obvious reason that she wasn't there in season 1)
6. The Bible was quoted twice.
7. Three people have been quotedin more than one episode: Euripedes in Broken Mirror (Gideon) and Limelight (Rossi), Rose Kennedy in In Plain Sight (Gideon) and The Fisher King II (Reid). Shakespeare in LDSK (Hotch), Penelope (Garcia), and 3rd Life (Hotch).
8. 3rd Life was the first episode that started immediately with a quote.

*I don't count the Yoda quote that Morgan said in Extreme Aggressor, because it wasn't a voice over like the other quotes.


Well, I did it. What? Entered the world of CM fanfiction. So far, I have two stories, both Hotch centric and both gen. There are very few of either category online. Hopefully they are also in character. I can't say whether or not the muse will lead me to write stories starring other BAU members.
